New Year Update

Well, the Holiday season is over, as well as the fasting season. Things were busy in the household I'm currently living in trying to get things ready for the Nativity. Some things have changed which hopefully mean that I will be able to focus on this blog just a bit more. I still have plans to keep posting old blog articles here, and I hope to get back to that soon as well.

Who is Christ?

I apologize, yet again for the tardiness of this post, assuming it will be tardy - we'll see how quickly I can type without typos. Life often gets in the way of the things that we want to, or need to do. This morning, my brother was running late getting ready for work, so he asked me to make him lunch. And then my browser crashed when I went to preview the post. So, anyway, here is my musings from today's Lectio Divina.

Even More Wonderings of a Parent

It has been just over 10 years since I posted the first Wonderings of a parent. And right around 6 years since I posted a follow up. This seems crazy to me, it doesn't seem like I've been poorly blogging for over ten years, and yet here we are.

The Joy of Shaving

I know that it seems odd for a majestically bearded man such as myself to write a blog post about shaving, even more so the joy of shaving, but here we are - just another oddity in this crazy world.

How Bespoke Post has Helped Me

OK, first of all, I would like to say that this is not a paid post. I wouldn't even know how to go about getting sponsored for my articles, and I don't think that my viewership is high enough for anyone to even consider paying me to write articles for or about them. That disclaimer out of the way, let me explain how I feel that the Bespoke Post has helped me in my life.

Why a Coat of Arms?

Last year I assumed a Coat of Arms after spending a few months with a herald to have one made. I've since used this Coat of Arms as my profile picture and even as a letterhead on correspondences. But why?

Update from Anchorage

I know that I have been absent from my blog for some time; I had a lot going on in my life with my wife finishing up her Master's degree, me dealing with the military some more, and the family getting ready to make a massive move!

Only the Dead have seen the end of War

***WARNING: slightly political inside!*** I think I have decided to not re-enlist when my contract is up in 2015.

The Many Deaths of an Orthodox Trampoline

I know that it has been quite a while since I last updated this most awesome of blogs. I really did not think that I could devote the proper time to this blog whilst I was coming back from my deployment and trying to reintegrate myself back into the civilian world.

Life of an Orthodox Daddy

So, last week I wrote about getting to know my daughter and overcoming some of the fears I had. This week I want to talk about praying and raising my daughter in the faith.

Wonderings of a Parent Part 2

My wife and daughter were recently brought into the Church, so I am very happy in that aspect. However, this causes me to ponder on things from a whole new perspective.

The Wonderings of a Parent

As the time draws near for me to deploy I am left with a slight problem: how do I explain to my two year old daughter that I have to leave for a very long time and may never come back? How do I explain to her that I am not leaving her because I don't love her any more? And how am I going to take being away from her for such a long time?
